11 May That feeling when you look in the mirror..
Today I want to talk about something that we have all experienced at some point in our lives—that feeling that you get deep in the pit of your stomach when you look into the mirror and see something that you don’t love.
Maybe it’s a part of yourself that you have always felt a little insecure about or maybe it’s something that you used to love that has changed with age, children, and just LIFE, but either way you’ve stared yourself down in the mirror wishing there was a way to change that one thing.
It’s because of that feeling that I first fell in love with the world of hair extensions. I realized that for women who experienced that feeling because of their hair, I could literally change the way they saw themselves.
I could help them find a way to look in the mirror and feel beautiful instead. For me, this is what has fueled my passion for my craft and my drive to always be able to offer the best available hair solutions.
Over the past decade of specializing in extensions I have met women who have experienced hair loss due to health issues, hormonal changes, and childbirth. I have met women who have lived with the finest hair that refuses to grow for their entire lives.
I have met women who have experienced excessive shedding and loss until the hair that they once loved looks completely different now. And I have met women who have experienced shaving their heads to undergo chemotherapy. No matter what the reason, these women all experienced the same feeling when they looked into the mirror and saw their hair.
Extensions provide women with a solution that can truly change their whole look. It can give them back what they’ve lost, or it can enhance what they have to achieve their dream look. I’ve had the privelege of literally watching the confidence appear in a woman’s eyes as she sees herself transform.
If you’re wondering what it is that makes hair so life-changing, we have to venture a little bit into psychology. First, when there’s something that we can’t control that we don’t like it causes anxiety and frustration. Second, when we like the way we look, then we actually feel better all around—our confidence increases, which leads to easier decision making, more happiness, and even better health. All of this, just by being able to love what you see when you look in the mirror.
Recently, I shared a story on instagram and facebook of a particular woman who is near and dear to my heart. She is a cancer survivor who experienced shaving her head for chemo, and for her—her still growing back short hair was a daily reminder of when she was sick. Just a few weeks ago (about a year after she first came to the studio) she was finally able to receive her NBR extensions and it was an incredible and emotional day for pretty much everyone in my studio.

We have all experienced feeling like we don’t love how we look, and everyone deserves to experience truly loving themselves. I feel so priveleged to get to spend my days being a part of that process for so many women.
